Settings for the Maggot Moon

So the settings for Maggot Moon might be somewhere around 40+ years ago since teachers were allowed to cane and or hit students if they are misbehaving and such. As to this book, the main character, Standish Treadwell is the student of this era and Mr Gunnell is the teacher. I'm not sure where this location and or country is set based on in real life but it does say some places that this book is set like Zone Seven and Motherland but that's all I know so far in the book.

Maggot for your Moon

During the session of reading Maggot Moon, I found out each chapter has one short text, sentence and paragraph in the book. In the first chapter, it is just an introduction to the book that contains around 30 words and its already a new chapter.

I found out the the Protagonist is Standish Treadwell but I would just call him a main character instead because I'm not into the book where It tells a lot about him. Same for the antoganist, At the moment is Mr Gunnell since he made Standish go to the headmasters room for daydreaming and pinch Standish on the ear as hard as he could till tears came out.
